Welcome to the ProfileMaker 1.0.4 Read Me file. This Read Me file describes changes made since the release of ProfileMaker 1.0.3.
Problems fixed:
1. When you open the data fork of a file created before, a byte of value $00 was automatically added into the additional data field.

Note: However, when you create a new profile a $00 is added to the start of the additional data field. When you create a new profile go to the additional data field and delete the $00.
2. The Custom Data offset is set to the end of the profile rather than to where the custom data actually starts.

3. When you opened an existing profile the size, profile name offset, and custom data offset fields were set to the current numerical values of these fields instead of "Auto Calc". When you made changes to the profile, the values in these fields did not change accordingly.

Note: This is fixed by setting the default pop up items of the size, profile name offset, and custom data offset to "AutoCalc".
ProfileMaker 1.0.4 Enhancements:
1. You may now enter ucr and bg values. See Known Problems #2 below on how to do this.
Known ProfileMaker 1.0.4 Problems:
1. If you create a profile with custom data, open the profile, and then save it back out, the custom data is lost.
Workaround: To modify the custom data or to change some other field of a profile with custom data, the profile needs to be converted first to a resource file. To do this, select Convert Data->Resource Fork from the ProfileMaker file menu, and convert the file to a resource file. Next, use ResEdit to modify the custom or any other data. Be sure to check the profile size field, custom data offset, and profile name offset and adjust them, if necessary, to reflect the new profile. After the data has been modified using ResEdit, convert the resource file back to a data file with ProfileMaker by selecting Convert Resource->Data Fork.
2. Do not use the horizontal scroll bar at the bottom. It allows you to enter the ucr and bg values. A better way to enter these values is to set the DeviceType of the Template to Printer, and to set the Color Space to 'CMYK'. This will cause the Show GCR curve button to be enabled. Click on the Show GCR Curve button and you will be able to enter the ucr and bg values.
